Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
Ensuring that health and safety procedures are adhered to in the workshops
Keeps the workshop equipment operating by following operating instructions and maintaining supplies.
Maintaining cleanliness in the workshops, tools and equipment's.
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
Assisting students in practical's lessons in the workshops


A KCSE certificate holder with as minimum grade of C
A holder of Government trade test 1 in motor vehicle mechanics
Driving license class BCE and at least two years working experience. Or A certificate in Automotive engineering module II a Driving License class BCE and at least two years working experience.
Those with a certificate in motor vehicle mechanics and BCE driving license have an added advantage
