Job Description An exciting opportunity exist for a dynamic, passionate and experienced HR Business Partner to join the Nando's SA People Department team, based at our Central Kitchen location in Lorentzville. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the HR generalist function across the Johannesburg Central Region restaurants and will further need to maintain and enhance the HR practices of Nando's, alongside a team of passionate HR professionals.
Minimum Requirements EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

- Degree or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification (Human Resources, Personnel Management, Industrial Psychology)
- A post-graduate qualification will be advantageous

EXPERIENCE

- 4-6 years generalist HR experience with an emphasis on Employee Relations and Remuneration and Rewards
- Experience working in a field HR position, travelling to multiple locations within an allocated region
- Retail / FMCG / Hospitality experience is preferred

Duties & Responsibilities REGIONAL HR SUPPORT

Descriptor:
- Supports the implementation of the HR strategy and business plan
- Provides input to HR strategies, policies, practices and principles on an ongoing basis
- Partners with and provides support to the Recruitment Specialist in the execution of regional staffing plans and the acquisition of talent including reviewing the suitability of selected candidates, conducting interviews, arranging and administrating trial shifts and managing the catchment areas and hot body lists
- Implements processes and practices to measure and manage performance within the region
- Attends and contributes to the performance discussions of nandocas
- Facilitates talent management activities such as succession management, high potential identification as well as training and development to develop a diverse talent pipeline that meets the short and long term goals of the region
- Advises management on salary benchmarking and salary equity within the region
- Coordinates the incentive and bonus allocation process, providing guidance on programme delivery and nominations
- Investigates and resolves any nandocas careline complaints as well as any formally raised grievances
- Facilitates the effective onboarding of new nandocas by maintaining and updating in-Casa induction material and monitoring progress
- Facilitates the effective onboarding of nandocas from acquired casas by managing due diligence, section 197 and harmonisation processes
- Actively identifies gaps in HR process, policy and procedure and proposes changes necessary to cover risks
- Works with the Employee Engagement Department to implement organisational development and related initiatives that foster the development of a positive organisational culture and enhance the organisation as a preferred employer
- Implements and advises on ER policies and procedures to ensure fair and equitable practices and the effective management of complex disciplinary issues
- Supports the disciplinary and grievance process by reviewing all warnings issued, preparing for and managing the drafting, issuing and scheduling of disciplinary hearings and attending CCMA hearings
- Conducts field visits, interviews, and exit interviews to understand opportunities for improved retention
- Ensures that the credibility of HR is maintained by referring queries and issues that are outside of their professional scope to the appropriate professional
- Drives the effective roll out and embedding of Compass values and behaviours in the casas
- Monitors casa behaviour to ensure that any maltreatment of Nandocas is reported and addressed
- Assists in the motivation of Patraos and Nandocas to strive for the League of Champions and similar recognition and incentive opportunities
- Sets up, coordinates and chairs the Nandoca communication forum within the region

COMPLIANCE AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

Descriptor:
- Acts as a single point of the contact for nandocas and managers in the region, including coaching and advising on HR needs and people practices
- Takes responsibility for regional compliance with relevant legislation and company requirements
- Implements HR policies and procedures in the region and ensures that these are effectively communicated and understood
- Addresses non-compliance to HR policies, processes and procedures
- Communicates and monitors the employment equity plan to ensure that targets are achieved

RECORDS MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING

Descriptor:
- Maintains accurate and comprehensive Employee Relations reporting for the region
- Compiles monthly reports on HR incidents, progress and results for the region, using HR metrics to monitor performance and identify actionable trends
- Compiles all relevant quarterly and annual HR reports for management information purposes and as required by legislation
- Oversees the maintenance of the HR information system

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Descriptor:
- Regularly evaluates the effectiveness of HR efforts and develops recommendations for improvement
- Conducts ongoing market research to be on the cutting-edge of HR approaches
- Reviews business requirements and related topics to stay current on campaigns, competitors and industry related information
